Pastor Jim has been in the full-time Christian ministry for fifty years. He has served as an Associate Pastor, Youth Pastor, Minister of Music, Christian School teacher, public school teacher and Christian school principal in California, Oregon, New Mexico and Colorado.
Pastor Jim graduated from Southern California College (Vanguard University) in Costa Mesa, California in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and from California Graduate School of Theology in Glendale, California with a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies. His Master's thesis, "Divorce and Remarriage: the Letter of the Law versus the Spirit of the Law", was published by Brentwood Christian Press in 1986.
Pastor Jim has been instrumental in founding three Christian Schools, two in California and one in New Mexico. From 1981 to 2007, he served as Pastor of Calvary Chapel in Los Alamos, New Mexico and founded Calvary Christian School as a ministry of the church.
In 1985, Pastor Jim made his first missions ministry trip to the Philippines. As a result, he founded the Philippines Missions, Inc. as a means of helping and encouraging Filipino pastors of mountain churches on several of the islands.
Pastor Jim has completed his 25th trip. As part of these annual mission trips, Pastor Jim takes other believers along withthe purpose of expanding their vision for missionary ministry. Today, Philippines Missions continues to function as a conduit for helping Filipino Pastors and churches.
After resigning from Calvary Chapel in 2007, Pastor Jim and his wife, Carolyn, made the decision to move to Loveland, Colorado, to be closer to their son, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters. The Tracy's have been married for thirty-eight years and have two grown children and two granddaughters. Carolyn has taught in Christian schools for 20 years and is now a care-giver for senior citizens. Carolyn has also made nine trips to the Philippines.
In December of 2010, Pastor Jim became the Senior Pastor 0f Celebration Church @ Loveland. He and Carolyn are excited to be part of the Loveland community. They look forward to continuing to build a relationship with each and every one of you, as well as serving Celebration Church.
